CADsnip is built so that your work stays yours.

Your sketches stay on your device

Pictures, PDFs and markups are never uploaded. They are handled in your browser, and the sketch you are working on is saved in your browser's storage on this device so it is still there next time. Clearing your browser data removes it. Sketches you keep with Save as, and images you export, are files on your device, wherever you choose to put them.

No accounts, no cookies

There is no sign-in and CADsnip sets no cookies. Your choices (theme, language, icon size and which side bar sections are folded) are kept in your browser's local storage on this device and are never sent anywhere. So is the date you were last counted as a user (see below). That is a date only, never an ID.

What is counted

To learn whether the app is useful and how many people use it, we keep seven anonymous totals. Each is a single number that goes up by one:

  • App opened
  • Daily user: added once a day by each browser that opens the app, so it shows roughly how many people used CADsnip that day
  • Image pasted
  • Image copied
  • Image exported
  • Donate button clicked
  • Feedback sent

Each total is also kept for each day, so we can see whether use grows. No IDs, no IP addresses, no image data and no text from your sketches are counted or stored. The request that adds one carries no cookies and no referrer.

Feedback (optional)

The Feedback button in the app is optional and anonymous. If you send feedback, we store only what you choose to give: a score from 0 to 10, your role (and, if you choose Other, the role you type) and your message, with the date and time, the app version and the theme you were using. No IP address is stored, and nothing that could lead back to you: no browser details, ID or cookie, and what you send is not logged. Please don’t add names, email addresses, or personal or client details to your message.

Visits to this site

The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not follow individual visitors around the web.

Donations

Donations are not open yet. Clicking Donate only shows a thank-you message and adds one to the Donate total above.
